Invisalign
Nearly invisible, removable Aligners
Invisalign, or progressive, clear removable aligners, are a new technology and method for straightening teeth. Invisalign is a great option for those who want to straighten their teeth without the appearance of traditional braces. Customized removable aligners, which are nearly invisible when worn, gradually move the teeth into their final positions.
The aligners look similar to teeth-whitening trays but fit snugly next to your teeth. Each aligner is worn for a period of time, usually two weeks, and is designed to move the teeth a designated amount. Once you’ve completed the time period, you simply replace the current aligner with the next aligner in the series. Although the aligners are removable, they must be worn at least 20 to 22 hours per day to achieve the planned results.
Aligners should be removed to eat, drink, to clean the teeth, or to have them checked by your Orthodontist. Since you are able to remove the aligners, there are no restrictions on foods that could damage the appliances.
Computerized treatment planning is a part of the Invisalign process. You can review the projected smile design, learn how long the treatment is likely to take, compare different plans and make an educated decision about whether Invisalign is for you.
Aligners are generally not used for complex orthodontic cases. To find out if you are a candidate for Invisalign treatment, please contact one of our friendly staff at your most convenient office. No referrals are necessary.
